The Bulb Transport fleet
Bulb Transport runs five vehicle types, from a small van up to a 7.5 tonne box with a tail lift, plus a secure air-ride vehicle for high-value loads. Every job is quoted against one of them, so the figures below are the ones dispatch prices from — payload, load space and pallet capacity for each.

Every vehicle
What is fitted on every vehicle?
The list below is standard across all five vehicle types — it is not an upgrade and it is not priced separately.
- Live GPS tracking
Tracked for the length of the job, and dispatch can read your vehicle's position back to you on the phone at any point.
- Proof of delivery
A signed POD with the time and the name of the person who took the consignment, emailed on completion.
- Goods in transit cover
£25,000 per consignment as standard on every vehicle. Higher limits are arranged per job, before collection — see the cover we hold.
- One job at a time
No consolidation and no sortation. Whatever is loaded is the only consignment on board until it is delivered.
- Vetted, employed drivers
Drivers are employed rather than sourced job by job, and DBS-checked drivers are available on request.
- ADR-ready
Trained drivers and compliant kit for classed and dangerous goods, on the vehicle types cleared to carry them.
FAQs
Questions we get asked
Which vehicle do I need?
Tell dispatch the weight, the largest dimension and whether it is on a pallet, and they pick it for you. As a rule of thumb: under 800kg and hand-loadable goes on a van, anything palletised or needing a tail lift goes on the Luton or the 7.5 tonne box.
Can I book a specific vehicle?
Yes. Name the vehicle when you call and it is assigned to your job, subject to one being free. If the one you asked for is not available, dispatch tells you before you commit, along with what is.
Do you charge more for a bigger vehicle?
Yes — the rate is set by vehicle type and distance, so a 7.5 tonne box costs more per mile than a small van. The figure quoted before collection is the figure invoiced, whichever vehicle runs the job.
Is a tail lift available on every job?
Tail lifts are fitted to the Luton and the 7.5 tonne box, not to the vans. If your consignment cannot be lifted by hand, say so when booking and one of those two is assigned.
Do you have vehicles for high-value or sensitive loads?
The air-ride secure vehicle is unmarked, alarmed and temperature controlled, and runs gold and precious metals, art and watch and jewellery work with a vetted driver.
How quickly can a vehicle reach me?
Collection is typically within 60 minutes of booking, because the nearest suitable vehicle is assigned and comes straight to you rather than returning to a yard first.
