Bulb Transport

Emergency courier, any hour. A person answers, a vehicle moves.

An emergency courier is a van you can get hold of at any hour, 3am on a Sunday included, for a delivery that's gone from routine to critical. If it can wait for the morning, overnight delivery costs less.

  • Dispatch answers day and night
  • Collection usually within the hour
  • Price agreed before collection

What counts as an emergency?

Anything where the delay has become the problem. A machine stopped and the part is 180 miles away. A supplier missed a delivery and the shift starts at six. What makes it an emergency isn't the cargo — it's that the normal way has run out of clock.

It gets scoped and priced in one phone call, because by then the useful thing we can do is move a driver, not collect paperwork.

  • Breakdowns waiting on a single part
  • Deliveries that failed elsewhere, now with a deadline
  • Out-of-hours collections when nobody else answers
  • Recovering something sent to the wrong address

What does an emergency courier cost?

The same basis as any other job: distance and the van it needs. On top of that there's a premium for unsociable hours and very short notice, because a driver is brought in for it. You hear the figure before the van moves.

  • The hour you call: nights cost more
  • How far away the nearest free driver is
  • Distance from collection to delivery
  • Waiting time, or a second crew member

How booking works

How does booking a Bulb Transport courier work?

  1. 01

Tell dispatch what you are moving

Use the quote form or call dispatch with the collection and delivery postcodes, what is travelling and when it needs to arrive.

  2. 02

Get one fixed price and a dedicated vehicle

Dispatch confirms a fixed price and sends one vehicle and one driver for your job alone, with no hubs and no handovers.

  3. 03

Track it and receive proof of delivery

Follow the vehicle live while it is moving. The signed proof of delivery is emailed to you as soon as the job is complete.

FAQs

Questions we get asked

Is there really someone answering at 3am?

Yes. The desk is staffed round the clock, bank holidays and Christmas included. An out-of-hours call reaches a controller who can price the job and assign a van in the same conversation.

Does an emergency job cost more?

Usually. Unsociable hours and very short notice affect the rate, because a driver is brought in for it. The figure is confirmed before the van moves, so nothing appears on the invoice you haven't agreed.

How is this different from a same day courier?

The mechanics are identical: one van, straight there. The difference is the entry point — a same day courier job is planned inside the working day, an emergency is booked at whatever hour the problem appeared.

Can you collect from a site rather than an office?

Yes, and most emergency work is exactly that. Give the controller the site postcode, any access restriction, and a name and number for whoever's there, and the driver is briefed before arrival.

What if I don't know exactly what needs collecting?

Call anyway. Dispatch can hold a van while you confirm the detail. Starting a driver in roughly the right direction beats waiting until the paperwork is perfect.
