Bulb Transport

AOG courier and airport runs, to any UK airport

An AOG courier moves the part that is keeping an aircraft on the ground, from the store or supplier to the airport, on a dedicated van that goes nowhere else. The paperwork travels with it, because a part that arrives without its release certificate has not really arrived.

  • Collection usually within the hour
  • Custody recorded at each step
  • Nationwide, both directions

Why is AOG work its own category?

Because the cost of the delay dwarfs the cost of the transport, and because the part is useless without its documentation. A serviceable tag or release certificate separated from its component is a component nobody can fit.

So the job is run against paperwork as much as against the clock. Collection is against the release detail you give dispatch. The handover is to a named person at the far end — a handling agent, a maintenance base, a cargo centre — not a reception desk.

  • Rotables and line-replaceable units
  • Tooling and ground equipment between bases
  • Documents that must travel with the part
  • Consumables for a scheduled check

What does an AOG courier run cost?

Distance, the van, and the hour. A night collection against a morning slot costs more than a midday run of the same length. Dispatch confirms the figure before the driver sets off, not after the part lands.

  • Miles from the store to the airport
  • Time of day, including night collections
  • Waiting time at the receiving end
  • Whether a return leg is booked with it

How booking works

How does booking a Bulb Transport courier work?

  1. 01

Tell dispatch what you are moving

Use the quote form or call dispatch with the collection and delivery postcodes, what is travelling and when it needs to arrive.

  2. 02

Get one fixed price and a dedicated vehicle

Dispatch confirms a fixed price and sends one vehicle and one driver for your job alone, with no hubs and no handovers.

  3. 03

Track it and receive proof of delivery

Follow the vehicle live while it is moving. The signed proof of delivery is emailed to you as soon as the job is complete.

FAQs

Questions we get asked

Can you deliver airside?

Most jobs go to a named cargo centre, handling agent or maintenance base landside, which is where the receiver normally wants them. Airside access needs passes and an escort, both arranged by the agent. Tell dispatch early if that is what the job needs.

How fast can a part be moving?

Collection is usually within the hour of the job being confirmed, and dispatch gives you a window before you commit. From there it is road time, and the controller will tell you the honest arrival rather than the hopeful one.

Do you run AOG jobs overnight?

Yes. The desk is staffed every hour of every day, and a part collected at 2am for a first-wave departure is ordinary work rather than an exception.

Will the paperwork stay with the part?

Yes. Release certificates and serviceable tags travel with the component and are handed over together, and the handover is signed by the person you named at booking.

Can one driver cover a long-distance run?

One driver stays with the consignment, and where the distance exceeds what a single shift allows, dispatch tells you that when quoting rather than discovering it halfway. There is no depot handover either way.
