eBay collection service: we collect, you stay home
Won a collection-only listing three hundred miles away? A driver collects it from the seller and brings it to your address. Get the price before you bid rather than after — it turns a listing you'd have skipped into one you can buy.
- Quoted from two postcodes
- Booked with a person
- Named person at handover
How do you get it right with the seller?
Private sellers aren't warehouses. They have jobs, and they don't sit by the door all day. So the driver calls ahead and agrees a window rather than turning up, and dispatch needs the seller's name and mobile at booking, not just the postcode.
Tell us what the listing says it is, including rough dimensions. Marketplace descriptions are optimistic, and a wardrobe described as flat-packed that turns out to be assembled is the most common reason one of these runs goes wrong.
- The seller's name and mobile number
- Rough dimensions and weight from the listing
- Whether it needs two people to lift
What does an eBay collection cost?
Road distance between the seller and you, and the van the item needs. Ask before you bid: dispatch will price it from the listing's postcode and yours, and that figure plus your maximum bid is the real cost of the item.
Won more than one thing in the same area? Say so. Two collections on the same day can often share a run.
- Miles between the seller and your address
- Van size, and whether a tail lift is needed
- A second crew member for anything heavy
How booking works
How does booking a Bulb Transport courier work?
- 01
Tell dispatch what you are moving
Use the quote form or call dispatch with the collection and delivery postcodes, what is travelling and when it needs to arrive.
- 02
Get one fixed price and a dedicated vehicle
Dispatch confirms a fixed price and sends one vehicle and one driver for your job alone, with no hubs and no handovers.
- 03
Track it and receive proof of delivery
Follow the vehicle live while it is moving. The signed proof of delivery is emailed to you as soon as the job is complete.
Book an eBay collection
Tell dispatch about the item
The seller's postcode, yours, and what the listing says it is. Dimensions help more than anything else.
Faster by phone
0344 823 4006Dispatch answers day and night, including weekends and bank holidays. If the job is already urgent, call rather than type.
What happens next?
- 01A controller reads it and calls the number you gave.
- 02Vehicle, price and collection window confirmed before anything is booked.
- 03The nearest vehicle comes to you.

FAQs
Questions we get asked
Can I get a price before I bid?
Yes, and it's the right way round. Give dispatch the listing's postcode, yours, and roughly what the item is. The quote plus your maximum bid is what the thing actually costs you.
What if the seller isn't there?
The driver calls ahead to agree a window, which prevents most of these. If a seller still doesn't answer, dispatch calls you before the van leaves the area rather than after.
What if it's bigger than described?
Tell dispatch the listing dimensions and the driver goes with the right van. If it's plainly larger on arrival, the driver calls in and you decide before anything is loaded.
Can you collect something that needs two people?
Yes — book it as a two man delivery and a second crew member comes with the van. Say so at booking, because one driver can't safely lift a sofa alone.
Do you handle private sales that aren't on eBay?
Yes. Gumtree, Facebook Marketplace, auction houses, a seller you found in a classified ad. It's the same collection and the same price basis.
