Urgent parts courier for line-down and VOR recovery
When a machine stops, the part is the only thing that restarts it. One van collects and drives straight there, usually within the hour of the job being confirmed, with nothing else aboard to slow it down.
What does an hour of downtime cost?
More than the van, almost always. A stopped line idles a shift. A vehicle off the road is bay time nobody is paying for. A failed pump can put a site behind for a week.
That maths is why these jobs are priced against the clock rather than the parcel. The question is never what the part weighs. It's how soon a driver can be beside it.
What decides the price of a parts run?
Distance and the van, then the hour. A night collection costs more than a midday one, because a driver is brought in for it. You hear the figure before the van moves.
Waiting time is the one people forget. If a driver sits at a supplier's counter while paperwork is sorted, that's part of the job and it's better agreed up front than argued afterwards.
What we handle
What do you move for line-down work?
Production line and machine spares
Collected from the supplier and driven straight to the plant, with nothing else on board.
Vehicle-off-road and fleet parts
Factor, dealer or bodyshop to the ramp, same day — see car parts courier.
Roadside and plant-yard deliveries
Delivered to a what3words location or a grid reference where no postcode is usable.
Out-of-hours and overnight recovery
A driver brought in for a night collection, so the part is there before the shift starts.
How booking works
How does booking a Bulb Transport courier work?
- 01
Tell dispatch what you are moving
Use the quote form or call dispatch with the collection and delivery postcodes, what is travelling and when it needs to arrive.
- 02
Get one fixed price and a dedicated vehicle
Dispatch confirms a fixed price and sends one vehicle and one driver for your job alone, with no hubs and no handovers.
- 03
Track it and receive proof of delivery
Follow the vehicle live while it is moving. The signed proof of delivery is emailed to you as soon as the job is complete.

FAQs
Questions we get asked
How quickly can you collect a part?
Usually within the hour of the job being confirmed, and dispatch gives you a window before you commit. If a supplier is about to close, say so — the driver can often be there before the counter locks up.
Can you start before we raise a purchase order?
Yes. Dispatch can move a driver on a verbal instruction and take the order number afterwards. Waiting for paperwork is how an hour becomes three.
Do you run through the night for line-down jobs?
Yes. The desk is staffed every hour of every day, and a 2am collection for a 6am shift start is ordinary work rather than an exception.
Can you deliver to a roadside or a plant yard?
Yes. Give dispatch a what3words location, a grid reference or a gate description where there is no usable postcode, plus a name and number for whoever is there.
What if the part is classed as dangerous goods?
Tell dispatch before booking. Batteries, gases and pyrotechnic components go on a different footing, and are handled through our ADR and dangerous goods work rather than as a standard parts run.
