Film production courier for location and unit runs
Production runs on call sheets, not office hours. Kit, props and wardrobe have to be on location before the unit is, and something always has to be fetched mid-shoot. Four in the morning is a normal collection time here.
Why does production not fit a normal delivery?
Because the destination is a field, a car park or a street with a closure on it. It may not even be the destination by the time the driver gets there. Units move. Call sheets change at midnight.
So the job is run against a phone rather than a postcode. The driver has a number for the transport captain, and dispatch can redirect mid-run. A driver can also hold on location between a drop and a collection rather than coming back later.
What do you carry for productions?
Camera and lighting kit between hires and units. Props, set dressing and wardrobe. Catering and welfare supplies. Replacement parts for something that broke an hour into the day.
Rushes and media are the sensitive one. They are irreplaceable, so they move with one driver who does not stop, does not transfer them, and hands them to a named person. Where the same care is needed off a production, see art and antiques.

How booking works
How does booking a Bulb Transport courier work?
- 01
Tell dispatch what you are moving
Use the quote form or call dispatch with the collection and delivery postcodes, what is travelling and when it needs to arrive.
- 02
Get one fixed price and a dedicated vehicle
Dispatch confirms a fixed price and sends one vehicle and one driver for your job alone, with no hubs and no handovers.
- 03
Track it and receive proof of delivery
Follow the vehicle live while it is moving. The signed proof of delivery is emailed to you as soon as the job is complete.
Book a production run
Tell dispatch about the job
Where it's coming from, where the unit is, and a number for the transport captain.
Faster by phone
0344 823 4006Dispatch answers day and night, including weekends and bank holidays. If the job is already urgent, call rather than type.
What happens next?
- 01A controller reads it and calls the number you gave.
- 02Vehicle, price and collection window confirmed before anything is booked.
- 03The nearest vehicle comes to you.

FAQs
Questions we get asked
Can you deliver to a location rather than an address?
Yes. A grid reference, a what3words location or a description of the gate is more use than a postcode. A mobile number for the transport captain is more use than either.
Can the destination change once the driver has left?
Yes, and it often does. Call dispatch, the driver is redirected, and the price is adjusted for the change rather than argued about afterwards.
Do you run pre-dawn and overnight?
Yes. A four in the morning collection for a six o'clock call is an ordinary booking here, not a favour.
Can a driver wait on location between drops?
Yes. Waiting time is booked with the job and priced up front, which is cheaper than sending a second van back across a county later in the day.
Can you cover a whole shoot rather than single jobs?
Yes. Give dispatch the shoot dates and the shape of the days and it is scoped as one standing arrangement — see bespoke solutions.
