Weekend courier, Saturday and Sunday, same response
We run Saturdays, Sundays and bank holidays the way we run weekdays: same desk, same vans, same collection response. If it can wait for Monday morning, overnight delivery into Monday is cheaper.
- Weekends and bank holidays
- Dispatch answers day and night
- Price agreed before collection
Why do weekend deliveries fail?
Most of the freight economy shuts down for two days. Depots close, trunk routes stop, and anything already inside a network sits still until Monday. Fine for most goods. Not fine for a shop being fitted out between trading days, or a site working while a road is closed.
Weekend work is also when reactive jobs land. Breakdowns and failed deliveries don't respect a working week, and by Sunday afternoon the options usually come down to one: a dedicated van and a driver who's actually working.
- Work that happens while a site is closed
- Event build and derig across a weekend
- Reactive jobs when nothing else is open
- Monday deadlines that must be met first
How does weekend pricing work?
Distance and van size, as on any weekday, with the difference that drivers are scheduled for the weekend rather than already on shift. That sits in the rate, and the rate is agreed before the van moves.
A recurring Saturday route is worth pricing as a standing arrangement — it usually means the same driver each week, which matters where a site has its own access rules.
How booking works
How does booking a Bulb Transport courier work?
- 01
Tell dispatch what you are moving
Use the quote form or call dispatch with the collection and delivery postcodes, what is travelling and when it needs to arrive.
- 02
Get one fixed price and a dedicated vehicle
Dispatch confirms a fixed price and sends one vehicle and one driver for your job alone, with no hubs and no handovers.
- 03
Track it and receive proof of delivery
Follow the vehicle live while it is moving. The signed proof of delivery is emailed to you as soon as the job is complete.

FAQs
Questions we get asked
Do you really operate on Sundays and bank holidays?
Yes. The desk is staffed every day of the year, Christmas and New Year included. A Sunday booking is handled by a controller in the same conversation, not logged for Monday.
Does weekend work cost more?
The rate reflects drivers being scheduled outside the standard week, and you hear it before the van moves. The basis is the same as any other job: distance and the van the load needs.
Can you deliver Sunday for a Monday start?
Yes, and it's one of the most common weekend bookings. If the site is unstaffed on Sunday, an overnight delivery into Monday pre-9am is often the better answer, and dispatch will say which is cheaper.
Can we set up a regular weekend route?
Yes. Give dispatch the days, the routes and the windows and it's priced as a standing arrangement, normally with the same driver each week so site access stays familiar.
Do you cover Christmas and New Year?
Yes, those days are worked like any other. Vehicle availability rather than willingness is the constraint, so December movements are worth booking early — see Christmas deliveries for how peak cover is arranged.
